torture

how i felt about this essay was that I agree with torture, if there are bad people or even "evil" people out there and they pose a threat on innocent life that makes any ways or means ok to save a life. if they are to be bound and truted, i find that fair, they have lost thier right to anything andeverything if they are to be harmful to life. although i find torure acceptable, I think its not honorable, even in evil, there should be honor. meaning that if people are going to be tortured then they should be given a fair and equal chance to defend themselves.

Children need to play, not Compete

By-Jessica Statsky
This essay is a bunch of bologna to me, I think that you should let kids play and do what they what hoe they want. Telling you kids to be the best is the best way to teach them, they will always be in competition and they will always be trying to strive to the top, which will in turn push them to be winners and winners in life. Even if parents are pushing kids, pushing "their fantasies" at them its alright because you never know if the kid will grow to be something or not, I just think that the people who have the mentality "were all winners" they are just securing thier title so they wont have to say they lost, they are scared and they are weak.

Born to be happy, Through a Twist of Human Hard Wire

By-Richard Friedman
I enjoyed this story sin general, it is a sad story and I dont have much to say about it except that he does do a good job on explaining a topic and she does so in such a manner and it also makes this a very sad story and its also a eye-opener for people who do things that correspond to this story and they need to make a difference because people like this, deserve more that this.

Americas Church-State Problem

By- Noah Feldman
This is a story that I can relate to and that I enjoy. I find it quite a read and i like the fact that church and state was brought up. In the United States that we live in, there are many things that violate church and state and the whole marriage,Gay-marriage thing? that itself is a violation of church and state. It also like how she explained the history and reasoning behind the church and state thing. When she explains opposing positions she does a good job at it, she does not in my opinion choose a definite side as such.

No Child Left Behind

By- Athena Alexander
Ok, this story to me was again boring, it do not understand how they expect us to learn and do homework when stories like this are written. if we are talking about no child left behind then they should look at the material that is in the book because it is some dull meterial, almost as dull as Into The Wild which I must say is a horrible book in itself. With such sad and horrible excues for "good reading meterial" its not wonder why we as a nation are falling down and have to come up with saving tactic such as "no child left behind" and such. Its sad.

The perfect crime

By- Amexander Cheung
I greatly enjoyed this story, it was enticing and energetic, it kept me on my toes. i liked how Cheung describes both sides of the story and does so without confusing the two. This story was also very informational and helpful with understanding the music issues that still exists today. When it came to explaining opposing positions Cheung did a great job at doing so because he did nto confuse me by miscrossing the two topic together and such. What I liked the most was that he did not take sides.

In the Blink of an eye

By-Bob Holmes
This essay was completely boring to me. It was, sadly, a lame topic that was about fish, honestly in a college English book I am sure that there is something more exciting to write about than the population of fish in a given area. I found this essay to be a "fill in" space for the book. Also because there are so many pictures it is obvious that they were trying to waste space in the book. As to the explaining a concept this story does a decent job at doing so. For some reason they seemed keen on giving out a whole bunch of information on fish and that was ok, because it was the topic, but then they started giving useless information about it which had absolutly no reason for doing so.

Love: the right Chemistry

By- Anastasia Toufexis
This story was somewhat interesting to me. The reason why I thought it was so interesting to me was because it explaining the whole "love" thing and it explains the whole medical reasoning behind it, all around it was fun to read, it had nice little pictures that told you where what drugs came from where and what they did, very interesting. This story was also about explaining a topic and it sis a decent job I thought at doing it, it was very subtle in doing do, sometimes it was not detailed enough and i felt that quotes were not introduced as well in this story as much as it could be. but overall I liked the topic aspect of the story, not so much her writing skills itself. The sheer topic made up for the crappy writing.

Cannibalism: it still exists

This story was gruesome and made me sick to my stomach. The whole idea of people being certain types of cannibalism was the worst part for me, either way you were still eating human flesh so it was gross. Drinking liquids that are inside the cranium? disgusting and again, gross. But moving away from the topic of the story or how I feel about it, this essay was about explaining a topic and I thought that the author did a successful job in explaining the topic. The author explainins what experts have written about the topic in great detail. He progessses into the different stages and the breakdowns of cannibalism and concludes with statements that make you question yourself, I liked that part.
